Favorite Place for Head Space

I have never been to Plum Village. However, this monastery in France is the home of one of the most influential monks and people in my life: Thich Nhat Hanh. My visualization of this place is one of my favorite mental utopias, and I travel there throughout my busy day. The rows of trees are plum trees planted by the monks, nuns, and laypeople. They help build community and mindful action for all the practitioners.

  1. Ohhhh, you have ended up in a class I really hope you will like, Jessica! Although this is a course on Epics of India, I have tried to include Buddhist materials too. I figure this might be the only India-related class people might take, and I could not let the chance go by. So we are starting off with Buddhist jataka tales in Week 2, and if you want to do a Buddhism-inspired project for this class, that would be great. I will be curious to see what you think of the jatakas, and if that particular Buddhist storytelling tradition is familiar to you.
Do you know BuddhaDoodles, a.k.a. Mollycules? I follow her at Twitter and you'll see her BuddhaDoodles here and there in the class materials. :-)
