Wikipedia Trail from Local Food to National Trade Union Center

I started with looking up local food. The concept of eating locally to benefit the environment, in addition to being vegetarian, seems interesting to me. Here is the link. I wanted to learn about the history as well. The local food movement was a reaction to the Agricultural Adjustment Act.
Then, I decided to click on organic food. I selected this because local food might not be as beneficial as organic food that is a little further away. Maybe, it would be, so I wanted to investigate this.
Then, I went to the umbrella organization page. This is kind of off-topic, but the regulations that enforce organic farming are very important. Thus, I wanted to read about the kinds of international organizations that are in charge of these regulations and how they are structured.
Finally, I went to the national trade union center page. This jumped out at me because I had no idea was this was. Thus, I was very curious. I learned that it is a federation of trade unions.

  1. Hey Jessica!
I thought it was really interesting that you spent your wiki trail researching local foods and such. I think it is easy to lose track of what foods are grown locally and are in season, because we often just take large grocery stores for granted. I have been trying to buy local produce only for the last few years and I love having that connection to the area I live in.
